Pride of the Mountains Band Performs at MSU and their 2025 Spring Concert

The Pride of the Mountains Band competed at Morehead State University winning "Most Distinguished". The Pride of the Mountains Band competed at Morehead State University winning "Most Distinguished".

 The Pride of the Mountains Band competed at Morehead State University on Friday, April 25, 2025 where they won “Most Distinguished” in the KMEA District 8 Band Assessment led by Band Director, Tony Barrett.
     Then, on April 27, 2025  the LCMHS Music Dept performed their Spring Concert at the Sedley Stewart Auditorium, once again, led by Band Director, Tony Barrett. 
     The Middle School Band performed “Atlantis” and “Night Fury”.     
     The Middle School Band consisted of Mattie Barnett, Mason McIntosh, Ben Brownfield, Blake McIntosh, Izzy Capps, Makenna Miracle, Keiana Farris, Jonathan Mitchell, Whitley Green, Josh Phillips, Presley Hogan, Alithea Ratliff, Colt Logsdon, Jazzmyn Sandlin, Skylier Mays, and Connor Spencer.
     The Pride of the Mountains Concert Band performed “Byzantine Dances”, “The Great Locomotive Chase”, and “Critical Mass”. They, also, performed “Psalm 42” in honor of Jessica Hounshell, who had recently passed away. She is the mother of Carter, a fellow bandmate of the Pride of the Mountains. 
     The Pride of the Mountains Band consisted of Maxwell Baker, Leanna Raines, Joseph Brownfield, Alexander Stamper, Camden Buchanan, Tyr Teal, Skyler Caldwell, Ethan Thacker, Serenity Cornett, Ashtin Wade, Jesse Drake, Jaxon Whisman, Aleczander Harrison, Parker Williams, Carter Hounshell, Evelyn Drake, Brianna Kincaid, Augustus Horn, Koda Moore, Tucker Lyons, Dylan Noe, Hunter McInthosh, Kalib Olson, Allison Smith, Kaison Phillips, and Kainen Todd.
     The High School Chorus also honored guests with their appearance. They sang “Super Trooper”, “The Hanging Tree”, “Sinner Man”, “Friends”, and “Storm”. 
     This is the first chorus to perform since 2010. The Chorus consisted of Joseph Brownfield, Kalib Olsen, Isabella Caudill, Emily Phillips, Jesse Drake, Leanna Raines, Thomas O’Connor, Keyston McIntosh, Madison Shouse, and Cayden Adams.
